Illinois Community College Trustees Association

The Illinois Community College Trustees Association (ICCTA) is an organization whose constituents are the individual members of the local boards of trustees of each of the community college districts. The ICCTA was organized in 1970 and operates under the authority of Section 103-55 of the Illinois Public Community College Act. On March 12, 1971, the Illinois Community College Board officially recognized the ICCTA as the official advisory organization representing the trustees of the Illinois Community College System to the Illinois Community College Board.

Illinois Council of Community College Presidents

The Illinois Council of Community College Presidents is an organization consisting of all chancellors and presidents of the public community colleges in Illinois. The Council meets on a monthly basis to discuss common problems of concern and issues in community college education. The Council works closely with the Illinois Community College Trustees Association. The Council was organized on June 11, 1968. On March 12, 1971, the Illinois Community College Board officially recognized the Council as the official advisory organization representing the chancellors and presidents of the Illinois Community College System to the Illinois Community College Board.

Illinois Community College Faculty Association

The Illinois Community College Faculty Association (ICCFA) is a not-for-profit organization representing the faculty of member institutions of the Illinois Community College System. Members of the ICCFA serve on Illinois Community College Board statewide committees and task forces. On March 12, 1971, the Illinois Community College officially recognized the ICCFA as the advisory organization representing faculty members of the Illinois Community College System to the Illinois Community College Board.

Student Advisory Committee

The Student Advisory Committee was established by the Illinois Community College Board in 1982. It is the organization representing community college students which reviews community college policy issues, identifies issues of interest to students, and selects the student member of the Illinois Community College Board. Adult Education and Family Literacy Advisory Council

The Adult Education and Family Literacy Advisory Council was established by Public Act 91-0830. The Council is composed of 31 members (30 members and 1 provider member chair). The membership consists of eligible providers, agency partners, and other stakeholders whose charge is to identify, deliberate, and make recommendations to the Illinois Community College Board on adult education policy and priorities. ICCB staff support is provided by Dr. Karen Hunter Anderson, Vice President for Adult Education and Institutional Support; Jennifer Foster, Senior Director for Adult Education and Family Literacy/Director for GED; and the entire Adult Education team.

Latino Advisory Committee

ADVISORY COMMITEES

Each year, the President/CEO as authorized by the Illinois Community College Board appoints representatives to its advisory committees. Memberships are either at-large appointments selected by Illinois Community College Board staff, appointments recommended by various community college organizations, or ex officio members who represent committees of various relevant organizations. The latter appointments change as the groups' committee leadership positions change. All new appointments are for three-year terms except for those vacancies created by resignations during the year.
The advisory committees perform a critical service to the Illinois Community College Board in that they provide input from a local perspective on issues that affect the entire system. Currently the Board has four advisory committees.
Finance Advisory Committee, under the leadership of Ellen Andres, Chief Financial Officer, provides input on system budget development and policy issues dealing with system finance.
Program Advisory Committee, staffed by Brian Durham, Senior Director for Academic Affairs and CTE, assists staff with developing proposed policy regarding curricula and program accountability matters.
MIS, Research and Longitudinal Data Advisory Committee, working with Scott Parke, Senior Director for Research and Policy Studies, reviews all issues pertaining to research and data collection activities of the Board.
Student Advisory Committee, staffed by Jennifer Timmons, Senior Director for Student Development, reviews all issues pertaining to students regarding ICCB policies, advising on those policies, and informing students on issues affecting the community college system.
