Description
The website for this module is http://www.ccc.commnet.edu/grammar/quiz_list.htm. This module will be conducted during the first two weeks of school. During these weeks, I often administer a grammar overview diagnostic test. This test is generally found in the textbook for the course; however, as an introduction to technology, I found a site that contains several grammar interactive quizzes. Each student will be assigned one quiz on subject-verb agreement, irregular verbs, punctuation, fragments, run-ons, adverbs, dangling and misplaced modifiers, pronoun usage, parallelism, and commonly confused words. Two class periods will be devoted to the various diagnostic quizzes.
Transferability
The flexibility of this module is what makes it so valuable. I find that even the students in the more advanced English courses need a grammar review; therefore, I can use this website for all of my English courses (English 98, 100, and 102).
