Online Diagnostic Grammar Activity

Improvement on Teaching and Learning

Considering the interactive nature of the module, students will definitely find this review of grammar more engaging. This saves the instructor a lot of time, and it saves the institution money. The computer provides the quiz, which is time-efficient for the instructor and cost-efficient for the institution. The computer also grades each quiz, and that is definitely time-efficient for the instructor.

This lesson will be done in the computer lab as a class, and I encourage the students to help each other. Students often get tired of hearing their instructor's voice, and they generally welcome advice from their peers.

Nontechnology Comparison

Students can easily access the fundamentals of grammar through lecturing, handouts, and textbooks/workbooks; however, accessing practice exercises on the Internet is far more engaging, interactive, and fun.

How to Use in the Classroom

A primary feature of this module is flexibility. This exercise will take place in our English computer laboratory where students will have access to newer, faster computers. that are more, thus faster. Each computer has the common word processing program Microsoft Word, and the room is also equipped with a printer.

This module takes place during the first two weeks of school. This will serve as a diagnostic assessment on grammar. From this, I can gauge the major grammar problems and address them first. This test functions the same way as the diagnostic test found in most grammar textbooks.
