Teaching Topic-Based Vocabulary in an Introductory Spanish Course

Elia Lopez
Harry S. Truman College

Course

Spanish 101. Introductory course, one semester.

Description

This module demonstrates how to teach vocabulary in a topic-based curriculum and how technology can aid in the mastery and usage of the vocabulary for the development of oral, written, reading, and listening skills.

Transferability

This course would be appropriate for any introductory language course; however, the QUIA site would be appropriate for any discipline as it allows instructors to create class pages on the Web. It also provides the programming for teachers to input material and create games and quizzes for teaching and reviewing any vocabulary that students need in order to master a topic.
