Target Audience
The target audience for the initial round of PT3 professional development training in the spring of 2003 will
consist of college and university instructors who were not involved in the initial development stage of the project.
These instructors will represent the sixteen partnership institutions for this Illinois project.
The initial trainees may or may not have been selected for this training by their supervisors.
The audience will be made up of persons with a full range of technology experience-from novice to experienced user.
An indirect audience for the training may emerge due to the fact that the training materials will be available on
a CD and a website, making them easy to share with colleagues who did not attend.
Purpose
One objective of the training is to supply a user-friendly CD that will contain relevant, useful information as well
as the text of the modules developed in the first stage of the PT3 Project.
The training is an opportunity to share the work produced in the development stage of the project and to
enable the colleagues of the developers to benefit from the shared experiences of those who created the modules for
the four curricular areas:
Communications
Humanities
Math
Science
During the training, we will actually walk the trainees through the CD and highlight some specific modules.
Suggestions for transferability of teaching concepts from one curriculum to another will be provided.
The general function of the training is to educate, teach, and provide reference material.
To provide further accessibility upon completion of the training cycle, materials will be available on the PT3 website, which will be updated continually.
